Hi there! I’m Kitty—the artist, certified formulator, and heart behind Nectar & Thorne Co.
I am a naturally curious, cheerful, and admittedly slightly goofy person, but when it comes to this apothecary, I am fiercely dedicated to my craft. I am a licensed aesthetician, and my work is a bridge between rigorous clinical chemistry and the sacred, energetic history of the natural world.
For as long as I can remember, I always felt there was more to life than just the mundane, everyday hustle. I was the person at the local library hunting down old, obscure books, convinced that the world held deeper mysteries and possibilities than we can non easily see. That curiosity launched me into years of researching esoteric, polytheistic, and hidden knowledge, which ultimately led me to my core philosophy:
We are what we believe. Our minds are the fountains to our reality that we must constantly pour into. To honor that, we must consider our bodies divine and deserving of true nourishment. And that love is what transcends space and time. This is the connection between all living things.
That exact philosophy is what sparked my journey into formulation. I have always loved skincare, but for years I bought into the flashy marketing of products promising to make me look like a version of beauty I don't think even exist. The reality? I realized I was just fueling a mega-corporate machine for watered-down formulas that did more to irritate my skin than actually help it.
It might be a little high maintenance, but I believe that if our bodies are divine, they deserve ingredients that actually work, that truly heal, and—of course—that makes us feel super cute! Feeling honestly beautiful on the inside and radiating that on the outside is the absolute best feeling in the world, and I want to give that to you.
